Making Applesauce and Emails with AI

Moving can be a whirlwind of emotions and endless boxes.

Amidst the chaos, my youngest son recently found himself on a mission to make applesauce.

He had a recipe he loved, but it was tucked away in one of our many still-packed boxes.

He searched tirelessly all afternoon, but alas, the elusive recipe remained hidden. As a caring parent, I couldn't help but offer some comic relief in light of his frustration.

"All you need is an apple and a hammer," I joked.

He didn't find my suggestion amusing.

So, I called him over to my computer and opened up ChatGPT. I typed in the prompt: "Give me an easy recipe to make a small batch of applesauce." 

Within moments, the delightful AI came up with a simple recipe perfect for his applesauce ambition.

Applesauce Recipe by ChatGPT:

Ingredients:

- 2 medium-sized apples, peeled and chopped into small pieces

- 2 tablespoons of water

- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

- 1 tablespoon of honey or sugar (optional)

- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a small saucepan, combine the chopped apples, water, and lemon juice.

2. Cover the saucepan with a lid and place it over medium heat.

3. Cook the apples for about 10-12 minutes or until they are soft and tender, stirring occasionally.

4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

5. Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the apples until you get your desired consistency.

6. If you want a sweeter applesauce, add honey or sugar to taste.

7. If you like, add cinnamon to taste for an extra flavor boost.

8. Serve the applesauce warm or chilled. Enjoy!

This recipe should make enough applesauce to serve 1-2 people. If you want to make a larger batch, simply double or triple the recipe.

My son's eyes lit up with excitement and amazement.

He couldn't believe that ChatGPT had just provided him with the perfect recipe to satisfy his applesauce craving.

And so, armed with this newfound knowledge, he teamed up with his older brother and embarked on their applesauce-making journey.

It was delicious!

As I watched them work together, I was proud.

Not only had ChatGPT saved the day with its quick and easy recipe, but it also provided an opportunity for me to write about it…using ChatGPT!

That’s right!

In addition to the recipe, this email was also (mostly) written by ChatGPT.

This is just the beginning folks.

Many are in fear of this amazing technology. But, those who embrace it now will get to ride the wave, instead of having it crash on them.
